Last summer i saw a home made R/C airplane at a garage sale. It was built from an old school kit, with the body made of dozens of strips of balsa, carefully cut. I hated to see it just get trashed, because it was the kind of kit I built as a kid. Sometimes you see beauty in the craftsmanship.
Asking price , $7. Hell the servos were worth that. I brought it home, and noticed the it had been painted so many times the control surfaces barely moved. I don’t think this plane has ever seen free flight, it was so cherished the original owner didn’t want to risk it.
I sanded out the hinges, Converted to electric so i can fly in the city, and did a few more things that corrected amateur mistakes. Its now ready for the paint to be touched up and the snow to melt so it can actually fly like it was suppose to. Its probably 20 years in the making, but it will fly free.
